Would you like to be transported by the beautiful sounds of Hawaiian music? And experience the fluid movements of Hula, the Hawaiian dance? In the workshop, we'll start by practicing some simple hula movements. We'll also learn (a part of) a complete hula, a dance to a Hawaiian song, a 'mele.' Our hands narrate the story, and our feet keep us grounded to the earth while dancing. The warm, heartful tones of the Hawaiian language enhance our understanding of this beautiful Hawaiian art that has been passed down from generation to generation.
